Oliver Bäte is Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE. Based in Munich, Germany, it’s the parent company of one of the largest insurers and financial services providers, serving more than 76 million private and corporate customers worldwide.
Born in Germany in 1965, he studied business administration at Universität zu Köln in Cologne and holds a MBA from the NYU, Leonard Stern School of Business.
Oliver started with McKinsey & Company in New York. Later, he moved to their offices in Germany. In 1998, he took over McKinsey’s German Insurance Practice. He became Director in 2003 and was leading the firm’s European Insurance and Asset Management Sector. Oliver was appointed to the Board of Management of Allianz SE beginning of 2008, and started as first global Chief Operating Officer of the group. Effective September 1, 2009, he took over the CFO position.
Oliver is Assistant Professor at Universität zu Köln, Cologne, for Insurance and Capital Markets.
